We don't brew beer to make money, we make money to brew better beer.
Enjoy our beer straight from the source!
Our Tap Room has a unique atmosphere to sit back, relax and enjoy a pint of our beers – aside the River Dour, modern and airy, reflecting both Dover, whilst much like many brewery-taprooms of California and Germany. Decorated with copious amounts of modern breweriana it's also the home of our brewhouse, on show.
Open Wednesday to Sunday* where you can enjoy beers brewed directly where you're seated. Yes, it's a showroom for our beers, our mission is to serve our beers in the way we would like them served for their best presentation.
We're not a pub, or even a micro-pub, just a simple space to present our beers, furnished yes, for comfort.
Our in-house brewery supplies all the beers served from our custom back bar dispense, designed to present each and every beer in the fashion that is complementary to the beer style on offer. Our Tap Room features up 12 taps of seasonal and year-round beers, as well as sneak views into our brewhouse.
Both chilled keg dispense and Cask beers are on offer, 5 regular lines, 5 seasonal and 5 “White label”, occasional and specialist brews, all served in our range of specialist beer glassware, by our in-house trained beer specialist serving staff. If you’re unsure what to have, ask for a taster, our bar staff are there to help you enjoy our hand made beers, so don’t be afraid to ask!
We've complemented our beers, with a tightly chosen selection of other bits and bobs, from near and far that offer by the glass to experience with as much pleasure as we would hope our beers would offer. Whilst we'd don't have a kitchen, there's no need to go hungry, why not check we'll let you order in! We're adding other things when time and space allows.
Due to the size limitations of our tap room and brewery, we can with prior arrangement hold tables for groups. All seats are open to the general public for beer enjoyment at all times. We’ll clearly sign any events or the like, but if there's no signs, just turn up, sit down and enjoy our beers.
We appreciate that we are in a modern connected world, people like to tick beers, selfie and all manner of things we can do with our phones today; however like Micropubs we ask that mobile phones are turned to silent and calls are taken outside, those that choose to let their phone bleep, ring or impersonate Dom Jolly, a donation will be levied toward the excellent work of the local RNLI.
Other Things to Do Locally
We highly recommend that you make Breakwater part of a walk through Dover visiting the numerous other good beer establishments, as part of the Dover Good Beer Trail.
